Membership in MAWS

MAWS - It’s all about connection!

MAWS is a non - profit organization whose  purpose is to promote and encourage fiber arts throughout the state of Montana,
and to help fiber artists forge links to their peers.

THE organization promotes interest in the fiber arts - including weaving, spinning, felting, basketry and associated fiber arts. The primary vehicle for this is the MAWS Conference held every two years in a different city in Montana. At this conference members have the opportunity to study with top-notch instructors, participate in shows, and meet others who share the same passion for fiber arts.  A variety of vendors provide equipment, books, fiber, and more.

MAWS strives to foster communication between individuals and groups engaged in handcrafted fiber arts.

MAWS keeps members in touch through its quarterly newsletter.

MAWS provides grants to guilds who wish to sponsor a workshop, and are willing to open it to others in the state. These workshops allow students to gain knowledge in specific fiber arts from great instructors.

IN short, membership in MAWS is the best way to improve your craft and meet others doing the same. In a state where people
are so spread apart, MAWS brings you together!

MEMBERSHIP privileges include the biannual conference, MAWS newsletter, and access to great workshops.

THE annual membership fee is $10 and is due by October 31st. The membership year is January through December. You can join through your local guild or as an as an individual if you do not belong to a member guild.
